Bi-PA Biological Products for Agriculture

Bi-Pa (Biological Products for Agriculture) is a Belgian SME that develops solutions of natural origin for the control of pests and diseases of crops.

The idea behind Bi-PA emerged out of the necessity to have biological plant protection products with high efficacy applicable also in a conventional agricultural setting.

Bi-PA works with a rational, scientific and solution-driven approach in order to obtain environmentally sustainable control tools for pests and diseases.

Today, the activities of Bi-PA exclusively focus on the development, registration and implementation of novel and innovative crop protection solutions of biological origin for IPM and amenity uses.

Fondazione Edmund Mach (FEM)

FEM is an Italian research institute with a long history in developing biopesticides. This activity began in 2003 when the SafeCrop Centre was specifically established to identify, develop and test biocontrol agents, insect pheromones and botanicals. The research now continues in the department of sustainable agro-ecosystems and bioresources.

FEM has a strong background in plant physiology, biocontrol and plant-microorganism interactions, innovative technologies for genomic, transcriptomic and metabolomics and long experience in developing IPM strategies.

FEM has several patents on biopesticides and a wide portfolio of potential innovative plant protection products.

FEM is also engaged in implementing IPM in the region and advising growers on the most advanced technologies in agriculture.

Because of its technical high school, it also has an important role in the education of the future technicians and growers in the area.
